Buffalo, New YorkOctober 6, 1973To: James Parks, Senior WardenHenry VanLandingham, Chairman Moving CommitteeMembers of the VestryPlease excuse my absence from this month's Vestry meetingdue to a pre-arranged out of town trip. The following is a progress repor t concerning the removalof our pipe organ as it relates to the arts andfurnishings of a planned church architecture in thenew St. Philip's;On Oct. 2, 1973 at St. Clement's I had the extremelyenlightening experience of meeting with Father Kryder, rector of Calvary Church and a member of the DiocesanCommission on Church Architecture and discussing potentialplans for St. Philip's. Subsequently I receivedfrom him the letter accompanying this report settingforth his recommendation in, to use his words,"broad, brush strokes".I regret not being able to present this communicationin person and in more detail so that I might reflectand hopefully convey to you the enthusiasm and excitementit engendered in me personnaly in contemplatingour future church. Also, on the same day after meeting with Father KryderI visited new St. Andrew's in Newfane, New York whichis the embodiment of his work in church architecture .I was immensely impressed. It is my recommendation, and I sincerely hope the Vestrywill concur, that we take advantage of Father Kryder'sexpressed desire and readiness to assist us in our futureplans.Respectfully submitted,BobRobert D.
