Organizer to Address BSU
On Pan-African Unification
The organizer of the all-African
People's Revolutionary Party will be
the keynote speaker Thursday
evening at a meeting of the Black
Student Union .
Kwame Toure, one of the leading
black activists in the U.S., will
address the public on many issues,
including his association with the
Black Panthers, anti-apartheid, and
Pan-Africanism, in Diefendorf 147
at 7:30 p.m.
''Pan-Africanism involves the
importance of unification among
black students and black people in

general," Josie Rollan, a member of
the Black Student Union, said.
"Black unity is important. It's
important in order to organize for
liberation."
Kwame has been at the forefront
of the struggle for black rights. He
has been a leading activist for civil
rights, and provided leadership in
the black-power movement. He has
also been a driving force in the
student non-violent coordinating
committee.

Fonner UB student to speak
The keynote speaker this year
will be Phil Samuels, a graduate of
UB who also did work on his Ph.D.
here. While doing his graduate
work, Samuels taught such courses
as Business Administration,
Communication Skills, and
Organizational Communication .
Right now, he is head of Human
Resources at Goldome, and owns
his own rapidly growing graphic
design business.

Just in case you do not think this
conference is right for you, Brodka
believes it is important to mention
that the conference "isn't only for
people who are leaders now on
campus, but for people who just
want to work on their own
leadership development .
The conference costs $10 in
advance and $12 at the door. The
expense covers lunch, a coffee break
mid-morning, and a reception after
the conference, where you'll get a
